The first preseason game of the NFL's 103rd season begins Thursday with the Hall of Fame Game between the Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars.

The upcoming Hall of Fame game between the Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars will kick off preseason action, but there are plenty of other dates to be aware of as the regular season approaches.

The game will give most players a chance to compete for roster spots as it is expected that many star players from both sides will sit out.

The Jaguars have already said quarterback Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne, who is coming off a Lisfranc injury and missed his entire 2021 rookie season, will not play. Jack Luton backup quarterback C.J. Beathard will begin by treating a groin injury.

Josh McDaniels will make his debut as the Raiders' head coach and many of their star players, including quarterback Derek Carr and new acquisition Davante Adams, are expected to sit out.

The teams will meet in Jacksonville on Nov. 6 during the regular season.
