A few days ago, Johnny Depp won the defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard. The Virginia court also ordered Johnny to pay $1.5 million in damages, finding that Hurd had malicious intent behind the allegations of torture against Johnny. Hurd's lawyer had already said that he would appeal against the verdict of the seven-member jury board. Amber Heard's lawyers filed an appeal against the Virginia court's ruling in Fairfax County Circuit Court on Thursday morning. Then he announced it officially.

A spokeswoman for Hurd said: 'We believe the judge erred. And this mistake constituted an obstruction of justice. So we have appealed against this judgment. Hope the court will do justice to correct their mistake.'' He further said, 'Although we understand, today's appeal will burn like wildfire on Twitter. We have to take this step to ensure both transparency and justice.'

Earlier, Amber Heard's lawyers had asked for a new trial in view of their doubts about the identity of the judge. Lawyers claim, on the day of the verdict, jury number 15 was a fake person! They also expressed doubts about his birth year and age. In view of this complaint, the judge was also called. Heard's charges were later dismissed by Chief Judge Penny Azcaret. Therefore, a new trial of this case is not possible.

In 2011, during the shooting of a film, Johnny and Hurd started dating. Their marriage lasted only 15 months. Then in 2018, Amber Hurd wrote a sub-editorial in the Washington Post. There she alleged that Johnny abused her physically, mentally and verbally.

However, Depp denied the allegations and filed a $50 million defamation suit against his ex-wife. The case was tried for six weeks in Fairfax County Circuit Court. Then, on June 1, a seven-member jury gave its verdict in the case.
